“Vitality” is a 11x14 inch oil painting on linen canvas. It’s large swaths of bright oranges are bursting out of the canvas.

Part of the Unknown Flora Collection, a series of paintings exploring the mercurial and mysterious side of flowers. From zealous bursts to moody reflections, these flowers are untamed expressions of the wildness of the natural world.

The paintings are abstract and gestural, with an emphasis on mark-making. Throughout the series, parts of linen canvas are left untouched to highlight the texture and materiality of the work.
