“Green Fuse” is a 16x20 inch oil painting on linen canvas. The title references one of my favorite poems, “The force that through the green fuse drives the flower” by Dylan Thomas. For me, it evokes the common pulsing energy and creativity shared by all living things.

Part of the Unknown Flora Collection, a series of paintings exploring the mercurial and mysterious side of flowers. From zealous bursts to moody reflections, these flowers are untamed expressions of the wildness of the natural world.

The paintings are abstract and gestural, with an emphasis on mark-making. Throughout the series, parts of linen canvas are left untouched to highlight the texture and materiality of the work.
