Several of the titles in this collection are lines from Gerard Manley Hopkin’s 1879 poem “Binsey Poplars.” He describes his “aspens dear” and laments their being chopped down in one of the first environmentalist poems.

This collection features aspen trees, common here in Colorado, observed in the spring, summer, and fall. It is a celebration of the natural wonders that still exist all around us.
